Position: Machinist
Location: Melbourne Victoria (onsite only)

Summary: Elly Sofocli is on the lookout for a talented machinist to become an integral part of our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will bring a blend of precision, passion, and prowess in handling machines, ensuring our products' quality aligns with the Elly Sofocli brand's standards.
Key Responsibilities: Machine Operation:Set up and operate a variety of machine tools to produce precision parts and instruments.Monitor the machines while they execute the tasks and make necessary adjustments to produce desired results.Blueprint Reading:Interpret technical drawings and blueprints to determine the specifications and requirements for fabrication.
Quality Control: Measure, examine, and test completed products to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications.Use precision tools, machinery, and equipment, such as lathe, vertical miller, bench grinder, and others.
Maintenance & Troubleshooting: Perform regular maintenance checks on machinery to ensure optimal performance.Diagnose and troubleshoot machine malfunctions and perform repairs as necessary.
Collaboration & Communication: Collaborate with engineers and other production staff to ensure accuracy in production and assembly.Provide feedback and insights on the manufacturing process to improve efficiency.
Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols and standards.Ensure that workspaces are clean and safe, maintaining an organised environment.
Qualifications:
- A diploma or certification in a related technical field.
- Proven experience as a machinist or in a similar role.
- Proficiency in using precision tools and equipment.
- Familiarity with the properties of metal and other materials used in production.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities.Good communication skills and team-oriented mindset.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand for extended periods.Manual dexterity and an eye for detail.
- Ability to lift heavy objects when necessary.
